I already did a search on it, found what was supposed to be the solution... but it's not working. I installed the update thing for Poser 6 and SL still rejects the files, saying it can't find the rotation order. The posts I saw say that's all you need to do, but it's not working. What do I have to do to get this thing to export them in the format SL wants?

Is your animation's first frame the default T pose?

Here are the steps I took, with very important parts IN CAPITAL LETTERS (for skimming):
1) Install Poser 6 and PATCH IT. If it's not patched, it's a pain in the rear to fix each file manually, so just patch it. If you can't get the patch, don't bother, you'll end up tearing your hair out for nothing.
2) In a brand new Poser file, go to Window: Animation Palette. This is where you control the flow of the animation, loop the file, etc. Create a KEYFRAME IN FRAME 2 (leave Frame 1 alone for the moment). CREATE your animation IN FRAME 2 AND BEYOND. If you are making a POSE, make the animation a total of THREE FRAMES, make the pose in Frame 2, and click Add Keyframe in Frame 3 (so you have a TWO-FRAME LOOP of the same posture).
3) In PLAY RANGE (underneath the grid on the Key Frames pane) move the lefthand arrow over to Frame 2, so that FRAME 1 IS NOT INCLUDED in the animation. To test if you did this right, click Play; if your character jumps into the Frame 1 pose at any point, you didn't do it right.
4) In the Key Frames grid, scroll up to the very top of the list to the character name (JamesCasual for default). Click the little minus-sign box in FRAME 1; this will SELECT EVERYTHING in the entire frame. Go to EDIT - RESTORE - FIGURE. This will place the default pose into FRAME 1, which is used as a reference point for the BVH.
5) Export the animation by going to File - Export - BVH Animation, and choose Scale Automatically.
Voila. There are default avatars available to make sure that your default stuff is set to animate properly in SL, but so far I haven't gotten them to work right because they're for Poser 5. Good luck with that. ... now, if I can only get this pose to align right...

EDIT: Wait, missed the part about clicking Scale Automatically. Now it works... @_@ Thank you! EDIT 2: Jeeze, now I have to figure out how to keep the figure from going NUTS between keyframes... :\
