Ok, so.. I'm making a pose. I've made sure everything is moved by at least 1, but she still decides that she wants to keep rocking back and forth which makes the pose look REALLY stupid.

Is there something else I'm supposed to do? My first pose doesn't rock, but now my second and third both rock. I've done nothing different other than the obvious! lol

Edit: I've also tried the "Contents" and "Index" buttons but apparently they do not wish to work for me.

Edit2: Okie, now I've copied and pasted several frames with the exact same pose, and she still rocks. Blown a good 200L just trying to get her to quit rocking.

Edit3: Ok, now I've tried to Demo Poser7. It killed my connection and froze my computer. Back to Qavimator. Uninstalled Poser7.

Edit4: Ok.. So I've gone back through all the poses I've gotten/bought.. Seems anything that moves the back causes the avatar to rock.. Guess I'll have to just deal with it =x

Sorry for all your pain - I have found with the latest client and server changes I have had to move joints by more than 1 degree though. Most times 1 degree seemed to be enough, but I had a similar problem to yours with the last animation I loaded and ended up needing to move the chest joint 5 degrees on frame 2 before SL would recognised it.

The rocking comes from the default animations still showing through. When you look at your avatar standing without an AO they're always moving. I think you need to move the pelvis and the torso a little more in your second frame.

Yep, and the breathing simulation is in the chest, remember that joint.

I've noticed that one animator with stuff for sale, bonkkyu Bonetto, has been going a bit the opposite way from a lot of others and even adding some extra breathing motion. It's a little exaggerated (they're intentionally cartoonish animations), but it really does add a little spark of life to the motions.

I can't move anything without affecting everything and totally trashing the pose, though.. If I move the hips, then she leans downward.. easy enough fixed by rotating up.. if I change the abdomen, though, it changes the whole upper body.. which can't be fixed other than undoing it =x

Would a different priority help? I use 2 since I don't know what the other ones do. Is it 1 or 4 that's best?..

I'm still in the older version of SL.. Real etchy on updating..

Yeah, 2 is too low to block some stock SL animations from happening. The "body noise" motion for example is at 2 and the generic sit is nominally at 4.

To keep the upload expenses in check, try logging into the Aditi grid (press shift-ctrl-G at the login screen to get the grid list, the main grid is Agni when you want to go back). Make sure you have the stuff you need in inventory before you leap over, because a copy will be made of it the first time you go there, and you're stuck with that until the next time they refresh, which can be months.

Once on Aditi, you should find that you have at least 5000L of fake L$ you can spend on test uploads. You can't transfer these back to the real grid, but you can experiment with the animation priorities without wasting real money.

Hmm.. Interesting.. But since the upload is already in inventory, then the expense is already paid and it's just as easy to stay in the main grid.. Unless you mean 'need' as in props, etc.. Hrmm.. Worth a shot, though! Think I'm gonna go do that now, lol.

Thank ya much =)

Edited: It keeps saying wrong username/password no matter how many times I type it in =x So I've gone back to the main grid (using the exact same pass of course..)

Can I take it that a movement in one plane is sufficient for each joint, or do X, Y and Z all need tweaking?

Just one plane is fine. Whichever axis fits best with your animation.

The Aditi grid uses the password in effect at the time of the last database snapshot, so try an older password. I don't recall the last Aditi database snapshot date.

Hmmm.. Maybe my account is just too new then? I've tried all my passwords, and anything that I might have used.
