The Unusual Animation - Deformation?

Hello! I'm currently looking for information concerning the creation of deformation.

That is, to set an avatars joints at distances usually impossible for your mundane avatars. I found Kage Seraph's great thread on how to edit .bvh notepad files, though following the instructions (and experimenting with other values) I seem to be unable to modify the joints. I can set the hip height all the way to the moon just fine, but I'd like to try to set up other joint distances for unusual avatars (high hips and long legs).

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it possible to do this in a controlled fashion? How does one go about deforming an avatar via the .bvh files?

Thanks in advance.

Just a crazy notion...

I'm not familiar with deformations (I heard a rumour that they're going to "fix" whatever it is that makes them happen... true?), but I know you can make legs, arms, etc longer.

Is it possible to make them shorter using the same method? If so, may I get a link to the Kage Seraph thingie?

Thanks

That is the most strange sorbet flavor ever! There is a lot of information in the JIRA on http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2242 I hope it is enough so you can make your own deforms!

:) That's the problem though. I'm changing the offsets and getting no deformation. I'm going wild and shooting blanks trying to get the slightest bit of deformation. Everything non-hip related has only rotational offsets. The only thing that seems to have a positional offset is the hip, but that isn't deformation.

--------------------------------------
HIERARCHY
ROOT hip
{
OFFSET -43.000000 0.000000 40.000000
CHANNELS 6 Xposition Yposition Zposition Xrotation Zrotation Yrotation
JOINT abdomen
{
OFFSET 0.000000 3.422050 0.000000
CHANNELS 3 Xrotation Zrotation Yrotation
JOINT chest
{
---------------------------------------------------

I've also altered the bottom mess of floating numbers as well without any effect.

That's perfect, thank you.
