Ok, I made an animation in Poser that lifts the AV up and turn its and rotates, etc. None of that is working. The only things that seem to work are changes to the arms and legs. The body is not turning or rotating like it does in Poser. I searched some threads here and saw one where someone mentioned that if something doesnt change from the first frame to the 2nd frame SL ignores it. So I made the first frame very odd, even changed every parameter dial. The only thing that fixed was making the AV rise up, but it did not fix rotations or turns.
Any ideas?

From: someone So I made the first frame very odd that's prolly the problem. first frame needs to be the default pose cause sl uses that as some kind of guide when you upload. i think what they meant was if you're making a pose like somebody just standing around not really animating and you don't change the body part in the 2nd frame that body part will be free to animate regularly and won't be locked into the pose. you can see that in poses where you can't move your head to look at something. they made a change to the head in their pose so now you can't move it. try leaving the 1st frame alone and doing all the changing you want to happen in the 2nd frame or later (things don't *have* to change in the 2nd frame if you have more than 2 frames). also if you want the av to move as it turns you'll need more than just the 2nd frame unless you want it to jump to that position instantly.

Let me explain it again.
I made an animation with 150ish frames. The first frame was the default frame/pose. I started my changes/animation in the 2nd frame like normal. The animation starts by lifting the AV straight up and then rotates it. The animation flows the way I want in Poser. So I uploaded it into SL. When I play the animation the figure did not rise up nor rotate. Only the arms/legs seemed to have worked.
After running into this problem I searched these forums for a possible answer. One thread I saw said that if something doesnt change from frame 1 to frame 2, then SL will ignore it for the rest of the animation. This made sense to me because the figure doesnt rise up or rotate at all between the 1st and 2nd frames. Therefore nothing changed and SL ignores it. It made sense for whatever silly reasoning was behind SL ignoring the things that dont change. I mean I dont want the figure to rotate until halfway thru the animation. Now Im reading that I must rotate it some immediately (ie 2nd frame) or SL will ignore it?
Then after reading about SL ignoring stuff that doesnt change from frame 1 to frame 2, I went to frame one and made it all random. I turned alot of the parameter dials and rotated every axis of the figure's body. By doing this it at least got the figure to rise up off the ground in SL but none of the rotations worked.
It shouldnt be this hard to make an AV lift up and do something simple like rotate to the right 90 degrees.

Ok, still no luck.
So I tried to make things very simple. A 2 frame animation/pose and both frames are key frames. The first frame is the default pose using the SL models provided. The 2nd frame I went to the hip and changed the x, y and zrotate values to 45 degrees just so the figure in the second frame is clearly in another position. I exported the BVH file and still NOTHING. It didnt move the figure.
So what is the magic trick to make an SL figure rotate? It cant be that hard can it?

ARe you lifting the actual body parts, or just lifting the entire figure?

just the figure (ie body in poser).

Well that would be your problem, you have to rotate the body parts, probably the hips would be your best bet... moving the fulll figure only moves it on your window not the actual animation.

But as I stated a few posts above I tried a 2 frame animation using x, y and zrotate on the hip and it did nothing.

I guess I dont understand your problem, or I am missing what you are saying, because it works fine for me.

I dont know if this has anything to do with it, but I have never made an animation under 3 frames, not still poses either... try leaving frame 1 default, and make frame 2 and 3 exactly the same.

Ahh thanks Sensual. It turned out to be the hips somehow. Not sure why it worked this time but one thing I had turned on was "Inverse Kinematics" for the legs which stuck the feet to the ground I think. I turned that off and things looked great. Thanks to everyone who replied!
