I use Avimator to create my animations (i'd use Blender, if I knew how)...any ways, the first frame is the generic T pose...the second frame is the static pose i want...I save the file normally...I go to up load to SL, and find the parts I moved are a bit out of the position I put them, and unusable... What is going on with the uplaod, it plays normally on Avimator.

From: Lightwave Valkyrie are you using the same size av as the avimator? -LW Even when you do things are a little different in-world than they are in Avimator and the like. It's much worse when your avatar is significantly different in size, though, true. It's just a quirk of Second Life that causes us to spend insane amounts of money on upload fees in the "edit -> upload -> pull hair -> start again" iteration cycle .

Looks like the shoulders are broader in Avimator then the preview avie. If you haven't uploaded then you don't know what it'll look like on yours.
Animations work on rotation values. This means that the arms move a set number of degrees. An avatar with really broad shoulders needs to move more degrees then one that doesn't. No pose will ever work with every single avatar out there.
You have two options. Either do trial and error with every pose until it looks the way you want - usually you tend to remember closely for the next time. Or you can use a program that lets you edit the size and work with it to match your own avie. Not sure if Avimator has that ability.

here is the other thing you may not be seeing. In avimator you may want to nudge the collar bone just a degree for one of the axis. If you did not adjust those the normal animation in second life will take over those joints which is slightly relaxed, effectively bringing your hands inward. You may also want to do the same for every joint down the arm.
