AO Walking animation cannot climb ramps

I just created two simple animations, one for standing and one for walking. They are similar to standard animations but hip is not at 43" above ground but 200", that is avatar floats at 200" height. Then I used a simple animation override script to substitute them to most standing and moving animations. Everything works fine, but when the avatar tries to climb a stair or a ramp, it stops. It looks like the standard animation is able to climb, that is, hip is moving up or down not only because of ground changes, but also with respect artificial elements. However the 200" walking animation does not. Hip is frozen at 200" level and cannot go up or down. Why?

I'm sorry this won't help much, but my costume for Halloween couldn't hide my body, so I simply made an animation with my body well underground to hide it instead. :) It would be seen if I flew of course, but everywhere else, I was able to move around like normal, ground, hills, stairs, ramps, etc.

Just like when you dance you can be seen moving through other people, or if you are standing near an edge, the dance animation can show you dancing right off into thin air like in a cartoon or over water at a beach, because the system thinks you are still under your name tag, so what you describe should work, could there be other factors blocking you? Something high? Ceilings? What happens if you try to jump up the ramp? If you simply turn off the AO without changing anything else can you walk up the ramp? ;)
