If it's a pose, then try moving the bones that should be stationary with a slight (talking .01, or 1) bend, twist, or rotation. To keep it still but not for it to be noticable.

In my experience: Sometimes when the bone is set to 0/unaltered, it will default to SL animation for the unaltered bones.

As for the arms being off... that's trial and error. Keep in mind that for the most part avie height and sizes in SL will differ from that of your avatar and sometimes can make animations look off or strange. Any attachments might also make the animation seem as if it's not playing properly. Hopefully those things aren't factors for you.

Just make sure you are using limits (when/if applicable) and always check the rotation, twist, and bend on the bones. Sometimes that can't be seen as well in the program as it can be seen in SL.
