Where can I get avatar models so I can create my own motions with Poser 5. Ive tried making a motion where my character crunches up but it doesnt work when I upload, it just shifts the guy's legs to the right when its supposed to make him all cruched up like those models used for making avatars small enough to fit inside small wearable objects... I just want to know where I could download SL models that would make this process 1000 times easier.. unless there is someother way I have to do it... If so please tell..!

Use the Default Poser 2 model.

Wow, I didn't know about that maniquin....
Now I need poser... I have something but I think is missing some file and doesn't let me use it properly... I can't spend so much on that.. _____________________

Palomma, you can use Poser Artist (aka Poser 4) instead of Poser 5. I think it sells for something like $99 these days.

Has anyone else had trouble getting it to work though? THere's no .rsr files for the models in the download and I think that's the problem. It refuses to work in Poser for me, I can't load the models at all. I can bring up the obj ones for texturing, but you can't pose those for anims.

You have to install them exactly as the instructions say... or if the instructions aren't there any more, here's how it will work.
1. Open the zipped file in winzip's classic view. 2. Leave it open and let it be. 3. Navigate into Your My Computer, C drive, Program files, Curious Labs, Poser 4(or whatever version number), Runtime, Libraries, Character. (your exact path may be different depending on where you have poser installed) 4. Create a new folder inside the Character folder with the EXACT name SL Avatar 5. Set the window to the side. 6. Back in winzip, select all the files in your zip file. 7. Click and drag them all to the SL Avatar folder. 8. Reopen poser, and viola. Now, for the clothing, leave winzip open, and do the same steps. Make a folder named SL Clothing. Copy the clothes files (or all of them if you don't know which is which) into that folder. Due to the ps2 files having a specific folder name in them, it HAS to be named exactly as I listed. It should work wonderfully now ![]() Have fun! |

I've been working with poser for at least five years now and it never required the character files to be in a specific folder, only things in the geometry folder. But I'll try it anyway. Thanks
