I am slowly but surely teaching myself how to use Poser 7 and I've come across a very annoying problem.
When I make a animation and layout the keyframes everything goes fine and is good. It's when I export the animation that the problems kick in.
For some odd reason, once the animation has been exported Poser will go ahead and make EVERY frame in that animation be a keyframe. This becomes utterly annoying because I tend to go back and edit my animations after I see them in SL. So I leave poser up and running and do quick little edits and check them out in SL.
Problem is.. when I start doing more complex animations this is going to set me back alot since I have to redo all my keyframes for each export.
Is there a way to fix this?

This is a known "feature" of Poser. Make sure you save your Poser file before you export to bvh. If you want to go back to amend the Poser file - re-open it.
If you don't do this you will find that after the bvh export, every frame is a key frame. If you find your self in this position and you want to amend the Poser file and have no previously saved copy to go back to, then use the animation graph to delete unwanted keys.

that's a horrible feature. Thanks for that tip, it seems to be the only work around I could find. I'm just dealing with another problem now. In poser the animation is fine, the feet stay where I have them. I go to upload it to SL and the feet start to move out of place... grr.. any ideas to fix that?

any ideas to fix that? Most problems like that are related to the fact that SL "optimizes" bvh files on upload, which basically means that it throws out data on joints that don't move enough during a span of time. So really small changes (like the tiny angle a thigh needs to adjust in order to keep feet in the same place) don't tend to make it on the first try, or ever. Working at slower framerates (I tend to use 15 or 20 myself) helps, but sometimes you need to exaggerate movements or speed them up in order for the optimizer to accept them. And yes, it's a bummer.

As Anti said - and if it is not an optimisation problem then it could be priority conflicts which are making the default SL animations show through.
Did you move every joint you want to animate just a few degrees on Frame 2?
What Priority did you upload your animation?

What Priority did you upload your animation? The priority if on 4 and I do turn off my AO. The animation changes completely on frame 2 because it's a sword stance I'm making. It could be that I lengthen the time from 1 second to two seconds to slow the animation down some since it was moving too much. The feet actually don't move from where they are placed though. They stay in the same place in Poser throughout the entire animation. It's just when I upload it to SL they begin to shift. Soo.. more exagerrated movements huh might fix it..? I'll try..

ok.. I tired the exaggerated movements.. didn't help. Instead I found that redoing the animation completely was better.. well not completely. I saved the keyframe animations with the poser dots and just redid the animation with a new model.
For some reason that fixed the problem. *shrugs*
