I recently purchased a walk animation that is obviously set to a priority of 0 or not set at all. I can demo play the animation, but I'm not able activate it in my - very basic - AO or with script (although I can get other animations to work fine).
I was wondering if it was possible to reset or change an animation's priority - or am I screwed? Is there a possible work-around via script?

No sorry. Your best bet is to contact the person how made it and ask them very very very nicely to reupload it to a higher priority. If they won't, ask nicely for a refund. If they won't, don't buy from them again as its bad customer service.

I suspect your AO and the scripts. If it stops the built-in animation first, you should play your custom animations even though it was set any priority. But note that some built-in animations, such as standing one, will be brought back to life in a few seconds.
