Is it possible for animation to interact with clothing??
IE
Lifting a hat upon meeting a youg lady.

Im only guessing here but:
As a hat is not clothing but an attachment you could start an animation where the hand moves to the head, detaches the hat from the head, reattaches the hat to the hand then does what you say and reverses the action.
So, definitely possible.

Maybe having two hats, one on your head and one on your hand (that's invisible) and when you make the tip of the hat animation you make the hat invisible on your head and visible on your hand.
