Hello im a gunsmith and ive created some gun holding and aiming and shooting animations. Ive set the animations tons of diff ways durring uploading to try and fix this but none seem to fix it.
When I stand still with the guns in my hands for a few secs the second life animations of the wrist takes over and twist the wrist into a strange position and then the guns are pointing to the side or up in the air and looks quite stupid.
I use poser 5 and the animations seem to work just fine other then the wrist moveing around. Is there something I can do about this?
Any help would be great . Thanks Jenny Carlos

have you made sure that all body parts have moved at least a bit in frame 2?

So your telling me that second life has a bug and that you have to do strange task in order for the animations to work? Ive never heard of anything strange like that before in any other program.
Your not saying that (every) body part needs to move just a tad ? I hope your saying only the parts of the arm that is being used for the animation? Any why number 2?

frame 1 needs to be the default poser pose. sl throws out this frame anyways. if you move every single body part your animation will actually take over the entire body where the sl default animations wont move you.
every body part is in relation to the others. if the shoulder is not keyframed, then sl will take that over and make the rest of the arm do very strange things. but still every single body part needs to be moved in frame two. yes its strange and rather annoying... but you really only have to do it once, then save and start every animation from that file. its one of the lesser annoying bugs that we have to deal with really.

Jenny, I sympathise with your lost effort, but the good news is that this is not a bug, but actually a really cool feature. It allows you to override parts of the body in animations, and leave the rest of the body to other (and default) animations. For example, you can create an aiming pose that overrides the head and right arm, but allows the rest of the body to do what it will. In this way you can walk forward while aiming, run while aiming, aim while flying, etc etc.
I just wish this was documented somewhere more visible than the forums, so that people didn't have to keep learning about this the hard way.
