Hello all... first off I am of course a big time newbie to animation in SL. I have Maya 7 and have dome a lot of reading here but can not find the solution to my delema. How do I install and use the bvh export tool? I dropped the .mel in the maya\7.0\prefs\shelves dir, but not sure if this is the right place or where to go in Maya to access the exporter....

Thanks for any help you can give,
Anderion

Edit: found some reading saying there should be a button called export, but can not locate it... if I even have the .mel in the right place...

Hi Anderion. If you put the shelf_Secondlife.mel file into you My Documents\maya\7.0\prefs\shelves folder, then when you start Maya, you should have a new tab on your shelf called SecondLife. Assuming everything else is default in your Maya setup, the new SecondLife tab should be right inbetween the Rendering Tab and the Subdivs tab. Click on it, and you should see three MEL buttons, labeled Exprt, KyAll, and Zero.

That having been said, if you're using Maya PLE, I'm not sure if this will work for you. A lot of functions are disabled in the learning edition, and since pretty much any Maya native function can be replicated with MEL (the whole program is based on it), I'm sure many MEL commands themselves are nurfed in PLE, and that could easily include expanding the shelf. This is just speculation, of course, but it could be the cause of your problem.
