What must I do if I want to do swimming animation? I guess that first I must make swimming animation or get somewhere.
Second I must put this animation in ZHAO. I made all these but AO didn't work.
Do you have any idea why happened that?

Hi Jano - I've made a selection of swimming animations for use in an ao.

Like all ao motions, the animation has to run all on the same spot - no travel, because the ao runs the animation when you use the cursor keys to move the avatar.

With the right kind of swimming animations you could run them in a ZHAO or any general ao. You can also just run them in world as animations, assuming the priority is set higher than the default walk.

What happened when you tried to use your swimming animation in the ZHAO? Can you describe it some more?

I got some swimming anims in my ZHAO2, though I'm not in-world and can't remember exactly what I did to make them work.

One thing I do know is that they won't trigger unless you go below the region water line, usually 20m, and that it won't switch automatically while you're moving. Like, if you're swimming along and rise up out of the water, you'll still be using the swimming anim in the air until you stop moving for a second.

My swimming animation works if I jump in wather from flying. But I don't guide avatar in water like I want. The most of time he swims above water. That mean that he flyes and at the same time swims in the air.

Is this in Linden water or in a swimming pool or both?

I tried in Linden water. There doesn't work properly. Maybe I need 4 priority I don't know for poles because I don't try there.

It is posible that I set up priority after it is in SL. Probably I don't export bvh file from SL on my computer.

No, you cannot change priority once you have uploaded your animation, but you should be able to work in an ao with a priority 3 to overide the default walk.

It's a matter of getting the hip height correct. - and I don't know an easy way of doing this. I have only managed it by trial and error and re-testing on beta. Your's seems to be too high.

If it is for a swimming pool, I suggest you get your avatar into the pool, standing on the bottom and check where the water level comes to - at your avatar's waist, or shoulders, or above the head - wherever. Then go into your animation software and raise or lower the hip until it looks about right. Then test it on beta and adjust again as needed. (Sometimes it is easier to cheat a bit if you can edit the water and raise or lower it in the pool.)

In Linden water, things are a bit trickier with an ao. The avatar will follow the ground level - the sea bed - and stay consistently at the height the animation was made at relative to the ground. If you are scuba-diving or snorkeling, you can make your swim with the hips a metre or so above ground level. If you want to swim on the top of the water, you have to pick a height and stick to it. (Bit like me swimming in the sea - never go out of my depth!)

There are some swimming ao's which are scripted to adjust the height - but you either have to buy one or modify the ao script yourself.
