Animation Override issue

I have the ZHAO-II and for some reason, even though I'm wearing it, it does not work anymore. Does anyone know why? I've relogged, traveled to different sims...but, it does not work at all. I walk funny now...and have no idea how to walk.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One of the scripts might have crashed, it's unusual but not impossible. In an area where scripts are allowed to run, right-click and Edit the HUD, then from the Tools menu pick Reset Scripts in Selection, and see if that puts it back into order. Also, Tools->Set Scripts to Running in Selection just in case.

Silly question, but is it turned off? The ZHAO II allows you to turn it off by clicking on the HUD. If it's on, the bottom button should be green.

Also be sure that the sim you're in allows scripts. If the sim is no-scripts and the ZHAO was off when you entered, the animations won't play until you enter a sim that allows scripts.

..and while you're at it, re-compile it using mono. I did and had no problems with that.. but now I can use much more animations since mono allows more memory.

I switched to the ZHAO II and it worked just fine but now it doesn't cycle the stand animations. I reset the scripts and tried detaching/reataching, reloading and eveything else I can think of but it still doesn't change the stand animations. Any suggestions?

Did it cycle when you first used the ZHAO II? If not, you probably didn't configure the note card correctly. The notecard format is different from the ZHAO I.

If it worked and then stopped, it could be several things:

There's a menu option that allows you to change the stand behavior from cycling to random, and how long each stand lasts. If you changed something in that setting, maybe you messed up the behavior.

Did you edit the notecard with the list of animations? If you made an error in the stand names or the separator between the names, it may not get past the first entry.

Finally, the AO script is editable, so if you changed anything you could have broken it.

My suggestion is you just get a new copy of the AO and transfer your animations into it. They're free, after all, so it isn't worth a lot of time messing with it.

I haven't had it vey long so I am not quite sure if it was switching the stand positions from the beginning but i thought it was.

I did check out the options in the menu dealing with random/sequential and the timing and thought the same thing. That is when I first noticed the it wasn't changing and wondered if that had caused the malfunction.

I know not to touch scripts because I don't understand them.

So I did just that, I went and got another one. It still seems to have the same problem and I don't see any problems with the note card. I didn't make any changes in the menu this time except to choose my walk. I does change stands if I type something using the typing animation and the specified amount of time has passed. I can live with that for now and will watch the forum to see if anyone else has encountered this.

There's a button on the HUD called 'status' or something like that which tells you the current setting for stand cycling. What do you see when you click that?

Also, if you got anything wrong in the notecard, it should print a message when you load it. If you didn't get any errors/warnings, your notecard is probably fine.

Ok now I realized that the ZHAO II i got has been edited to add a typing animation choice to it and it is still beta so maybe that is a glitch they haven't worked out yet.
I went and got one from Ziggy's Picks and it works fine.
