Let's check out at least below.
0. Search your trouble 0-1. Did you search your trouble on this forum?
1. Before beginning 1-1. Did you get the latest updates of your Poser? 1-2. Did you download and prepare for using SL Avatar? 1-3. Did you choose "Display Units" on the General Prefences?
2. Basic work 2-1. Did you set the default T pose on the 1st frame? 2-2. Did you know that the 2nd frame on Poser became the 1st frame on SL? 2-3. Did you know that "Hip" was the top of the hierarchy construction of Avatar in bvh? That means, "Don't move the both 'Body' and 'CenterOfMass'." 2-4. Did you press "Scale Automatically" when uploading?
3. Priority 3-1. Did you make sure which number of priority turned out to be what kind of behavior on each statement on the uploading window? 3-2. Did you know that each part was set the lowest priority automatically unless you moved the part on the 2nd frame or later?
4. "In between" frames 4-1. Did you know that Poser automatically calculated "In between" frames and and figure out how to use Linear, Spline, Constant and Spline Break?
5. Avatar size issue 5-1. Did you know there was difference between the size of Poser's figure and avatar in world? It may be so hard that you adjust animation, especially such as hands clapping. You should consider Avatar movement in world, not in the Poser scene.
6. Still pose 6-1. Did you know that the still pose was the permanet looping of the second frame pose? To make a still pose, make a two-frame animation and fill in the check mark box for the loop on the uploading window.

something that puzzled me..

I spent about 200 L uploading different revisions of a BHV file that would not work. Even at priority 4 the avatars would still look around and rotate their torsos... Solution:
Activate LOOP on still poses.
