Help and confusion...

I'll apologise up front if this post is in the wrong place.. Please dont bite my head off, I'm new to forums but part of my confusion is where to put this post so i'll just type and see if you guys can help me out

I would like to hire someone to make a fire wand so that it looks like my AV is fire breathing. I have a bubble wand which blows bubbles and you put a pose on your AV to make it look like you are blowing (hence why I started my post here).

But i'm not sure if it is suppose to be a builder or a scripter or an animator :/

I have looked around and can't find anything that does this available off the shelf so can anyone make it or point me in the direction of someone who can. Obviously I am willing to pay.

While I may not be the best person to make it... I'd probably make a tiny object worn in the head that generates a particle stream on command (whatever form that command takes).
I saw someone with an ice-dragon avatar that breathed blue-white ice particles, so I know it can be done. The effect was quite pretty too.

That sounds like what I need, but do i need to hire an animator to do it or a scripter. Sorry but i have no idea what is involved

Probably a bit of all three, really. IM me in-world, I've written myself a nice little breath-weapon effect script and I'll give you a copy free.

Well, you will need a bit of both, so maybe you should post in the scripting forum too

You need someone who can script a particle script that works on command, as Sio says, and preferably who can make you the anim for the arm up/blowing as well. Many scripters dabble in animating and vice versa, though not sure off the top of my head who does custom jobs. Having said that, I don't think what you want is very much work at all.

I'd probably do the same as Sio - make it an invisible mouth attachment that does the fire coupled with the blower anim etc.
