Avimator doesn't match SL!

I'm going nuts.

So, I'm trying my first animations. I decided to create a namaste animation. It's an Indian greeting, where the palms of both hands are brought together and the thumbs of the hands are pressed to the forehead.

I can create it so it looks perfect in Avimator. I play the preview, it's just like I want it.

I've also done the part where the first two frames have to be the same.

Now, when I load it up into SL, it all falls apart. Instead of having the palms pressed together, my forearms are crossed and held against my head.

I look like I'm bracing for impact.

What am I doing wrong?

heh... disregard :o

I hadn't realized that the first two frames are supposed to be all values set to zero. I thought they were meant to be the starting pose.

It's not yet perfect, but it's 1000x better than it was when I first posted.

Try QAVmator.. based on the original AVmator, but.. advanced quite a few steps.

(Including the option to "freeze" the first frame, for good reasons, hehe.)

actually you will have problems if the first two frames are zero.

the first frame need to be at all rotation values zero

the second frame needs to have all body parts moved at least 1 degree in order for SL to take over those parts from the default.

As for things not matching up, no it won't the first time around. Just like all animations will not match every avatar. Because the body proportions are different for everyone.

Thus does Qvavimator have some way of modifying the limb lengths of it's displayed mannequin to match your specific avitar? i also tried making a pose involving palm to palm animation. After uploading it i learned that my palms penetrated my arms about a ft. each.

i've pretty much given up on avimator at this point, though i love it's simplicity.
