Hi, I'm a complete newbie and just installed a copy of Poser 4. Now I heard somewhere that to create animations for SL, you have to prepare them with Poser 2 figures, which I don't find in my library ... so where can I get a Poser 2 figure?

Thanks -- Dylan

A better option is to download the slavatar figures from this site. I forgot what the exact link was, but I think they're under developers at the top.

Thanks, I downloaded them but for some reason I can't load them into poser 4. The program complains that the figures are newer than expected and then closes after complaining about lack of memory. Any ideas?

Try downloading the updates off the poser site. I'm using poser 4 with the pro pack. It complains about the newer version, but it still loads anyway.

I cannot even get Poser 4 to load in the first place without an out of memory exception  Worked fine way back when, but not now on any of my newer computers.

When they sold Poser 5 recently for $20 (I missed the free period) I upgraded, and v5 works okay. I still hate Poser, but it works :)

Also, I know that the thread is about Poser, but you may also wish to consider using Daz|Studio, a free animation package that is compatible with a lot of existing Poser content, and can create SL-compatible BVH files with Escort DeFarge's free export plugin.

Oops, forgot to mention that the SL Avatar files can be downloaded from the Downloads: Avatar Files page.
