Frozen Hip Orientation

Hey all! I've been having an issue uploading an animation.

I've been making animations (and poses) for a while now and so I know the tricks about the first frame and all that. This is the first time I have even encountered this particular problem though. For those who wish to know I am using Avimator.

The animation fully loads and looks fine except for one extreamly major flaw; During the animation the figure moves about and the hips move as well but for some odd reason when I try to upload the animation in SL the hips.never.move. They stay oriented at exactly <0,0,0> while the animation plays out otherwise as it should. This is rather odd and after some tinkering I have simply not been able to counter this. Help!

The only thing I can suggest is try taking off all your attachments. Detach all. How does it play in the upload preview?

I know little about Avimator. If you were using Poser I would make sure you're animating the Hips and not the overall Body, since SL ignores the latter, but I don't know if that applies to Avimator.

The hips are also part of the animation. It's a walking type animation and the hips are supposed to move with the stride. The issues first appears in the preview of the animation when I go to upload it.

I can't figure out an explaination for that either. Have you tried actually uploading it, or are you just viewing it in the preview? I've pretty much given up using the preveiw as it seems to bear no relation to what you actually get, and in fact many times crashes my viewer.

I know you probably know this but worth repeating (we all forget things from time to time), the hip location in the second frame is different than the hip location in the first frame right? Because otherwise I think (cant remember) SL might ignore the rest of the animations if the first 2 frames are the same location. I could be wrong.

I'm just tossing ideas out now. Try installing qavimator and playing your bvh there. See if it plays ok. Maybe save it using qavimator.
