From what I've gathered, most tinies are made by using an animation that crunches your AV into a small shape (usually folds the Elbows and Knees back on themselves. The body is then made from Prims that are worn.
I bought my Critter, but did see someone selling just the Animations (sorry, don't remember where, try a Find for Critters), shouldn't be too hard to make a Prim body once you have the anims.
