Why does a pose display two different ways? I click on it in my inventory and play it in world and it displays one way but when I put it in a pose stand it displays as something completely different. I'm just baffled.

Possibly because when you use a pose stand you're actually *sitting* on it, and parts of the sitting animation (either the basic SL sit or one in your AO, if you use one) are leaking through. If this is a pose you made, the fix is to make sure that every single joint is moved at least a tiny bit - and possibly upload it at a higher priority.

hmmm Well I don't use an AO and it's one I had bought. Unfortunately, the look of the pose when it's not in the stand is the better one. I had placed it in the pose stand so someone else could use it. <sigh> Thanks very much for your insights, Anti.

You know, there are ways of scripting a pose stand so that it stops the "sit" animation, and any other animations that may be lingering about and causing problems. You might look into that, at least check out a few freebies and see if any of them work better. And there's also the possibility I was completely wrong and there's something else going on.

The script in the pose stand will have a defined "sit target" with parameters to set the avatat hip position relative to the centre of the prim containing the script. IF the pose stand is editable - i.e., with an editable script - you should be able to amend the sit target parameters to adjust the position of the avatar in pose.
