More seriously you use an external animation program to make the animation and upload the file into Second Life.

buy a dance hud it cost less than 500 L i dont know if there's a cheaper one

Hi Lucianna, welcome to SL and the forum

You have to play a dance animation to make your avatar dance - this can be done in several different ways. You can sit on a pose ball, which contains the animation and a script to run it. You can use a dance HUD, Ball or Chimera - you click on these and select a dance from a menu - or you can just run the animation file from your inventory.

Search for Dance Animations in world and TP round a few shops - try out all the pose balls and demos and you will soon get the idea. Pick up some free ones to play with too.

Lots of clubs have dance balls which you can use and any number of dance poles, chairs etc., all of which are scripted to play animations.

If you get really keen and want to make your own animations, then you need an external package - check the FAQs on this forum for more information to get you started.
