Hi, I read the some posts, and figured out how to export animations from poser 4.0. I add a key frame after frame one. And then export as bvh. Just when I view them in sl it looks like some one twisted the body up. Just like a peace of paper crumpled up! how do I fix this? that or they just shuffle their feet. sorry, I'm new to animation and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Are you making your anim using a Poser 2 model? The later, more detailed ones won't work for SL.

yes Beatfox Xevious, I am using the low poser 2 female model. Because it kind of looks like the model in sl. Do I need to delete certing things fromt he key frames? like hands or neck or some thing?

up I changed one point, so the pose had animation, and now it's acting like a crumpled up new papper again. arg. If this is what animators ahve to go through every day. I'm serprised any poses make it into sl.

When postioning the limbs I find it better to use the dials whenever possible instead of grabbing the body part and dragging. Dragging seems to sometimes result in the limb twisting crazily.

I know the lims are not twisting. I've been really carefull about that. It's kind of funny what I have to do to get the pose model to pose right. But thanks for the usefull tip!
I've sense ported a few aniamtiosn over. And I have no idea why they fight so much. it seems long as I add movement to all the parts they'll go some where close to where i posed them
but some poses it jsut chew up and sits out like gum.

If it's just a pose you're doing and not an animation, try: -Making 2 frames -Set the pose in the second frame and create a keyframe for it. -Open the keyframe editor. -Select the very top square of the 2nd frame so the entire row below it is highlighted. -CTRL C to copy that set of frames. -Select the very top square of the 1st frame so the entire row below it is highlighted. -CTRL V to paste the set of frames you copied from frame 2. -Exit the keyframe editor. -Change the number of frames to 1 (say yes when it tells you you're deleting frames). -Make sure Genitals isn't selected (go through the drop down menu's at the top of the application, I forget which one it's under). -Export.
This worked for me when I was just creating a single frame pose.

Umm I hate to bother the forum again. BUt I had a question about hips in poser, and exporting into sl. It seems no matter what I do. That the hips always end up being vertical. I was wondering if there is a trick to getting the hips to change. I mean what if some one want to do a repel animation, sprint animation, or a baby crawling?
am I just sol, or is there some trick I can use ? I'd like to use the animations with animation over ride. So I can't use the rotate pose ball trick.

There is a simple way to make the hips go vertical - refer to my post on using frame # 1, and use the Bend slider on the hips. Bend the hips backward 90 degrees, and you will get hips that are parallel to the ground. Note the rest of the frames look normal, so imagine you are posing them from underneath and you will get the right effect you are looking for. Attached is a sample file (note I had to change its extension to txt to upload it).

I have e-mail, yahoo, aim... I use a make also Kurt and after it downloaded, TextEdit opened and I was able to save the file without the .txt attached. It asked if I was sure I wanted to change the extension and I said yes. The I was able to import it into Poser with no problem. Just wanted to share.
