1. have you left the 1st frame as the default?
2. did you move all the body parts in frame 2?
3. did you download the SL avies to import into poser?
4. what priority is it at?

SL aniamtion recognizes that you move parts when they get different values from the first frame. So if you let it posture at the first frame and didn't touch parts at the latter frame, those parts wouldn't be recognized moving. It is the one of reasons that the first frame's pose should be the default T-Pose. It is a funny pose so that everybody wants to change, but we can advise you to keep it and start out from the second frame.

Take a look at http://secondlife.com/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=Animation+Guide

It should answer most of your questions on animating for Second Life.

I too am having problems with the torso not moving in my animations. I have downloaded and installed the Sl avies and left the first frame alone in the T-shape default. As a test I am moving just the torso in the 2nd and 3rd frames and still I get no movement in the upload window. I've read through all the posting and tutorials and I'm still not able to get poser 4 to work for me. Is there anything else I can try to make this work?

According to the Wiki above linked...

9. Optimization
SL's BVH importer does optimization of animation data prior to upload into SL. Joint rotations with very slight changes from keyframe to keyframe will be interpreted as *not* changing and thus aren't stored. This is done intentionally since custom animation data is stored on our servers and downloaded to each viewer as it is needed in real time, and needs to be fairly terse.
The potential side effect of the optomization is what you have observed; joints with very subtle movement might have their animation data dropped entirely on upload. The threshold formula is complex(at least to my non-programmer eyes) and involves comparing all three axes of data per joint, the distance moved between keyframes, as well as the joint's position in the skeletal hierachy. The design is *supposed* to allow for subtle motion to come through intact, so there may be a couple bugs.---by Xenon Linden
Did you move them slightly?

To add the Poser figures to your Poser Library:

1. Navigate to the install location of your Poser app. and open the 'character' folder of your Poser library. (For example, ...¥Poser 5¥Runtime¥libraries¥character)

2. Copy the 'SL Avatar' folder and its contents into the character folder.

3. Start Poser and clear the work space.

4. Open the Poser library and click the 'Figures' button to reveal the character folder categories. Open the "SL Avatar" folder to find 2 new characters, "SL_Female" and "SL_Male". Double click the icon to add it to your scene.
NOTE TO POSER 4 USERS: The icon in the library will appear as a generic figure shrugging his shoulders. There may be a couple warning messages about the version number of the character but click through these and the character will be added to your scene. You can then click on the '+' button in the library to create an identical character that will have a new icon and will open without any warning messages.

5. If you want to make this character your default startup Poser character open the 'Edit/General Prefs.' menu, set the Document Preference to 'Launch to Preferred State', and press the 'Set Preferred State' button. Now each time you launch Poser it will load the SL mannequin automatically as its default figure.
