I have created walk animation in Poser. When I loaded its and play in world in Second Life I have noticed that it doesnt move. It is on same place. What can I do that animation moves as in Poser.

Need a bit more information Jano - do you get an error message when you try to upload to SL? What does the preview look like? Is that the same as in Poser?

Hi Jano, if I read your question right, you're wondering why your walk animation doesn't actually move your avatar forward, right? Well, no walk animation does that. The spatial movement of the avatar and the animation that is played while it moves are two different things. If you want to use your walk, you have to put it in an animation overrider (the ZHAO-II, for example) and configure this so that the default SL walk gets replaced with the walk you made.

Where can I get animation overrider ZHAO-II? Does its configure easy or you have to especialy knowledge? Can I get its in Second life or on the web sites?

I have seen one walk animation which has on the box? It is possibly uses animation rider. But I have seen one dance animation which has animation image and it moves. It is means that you dont need ever animation overrider.

Hi Jano - search in world for Ziggy Puff - who made the ZHAO - and you will find Ziggy's shop in the picks. You can pick up a free copy of the ZHAO II from there.

If you search this forum for ZHAO you will find lots of information including Vicki Cristiansen's tutorial.

Using an AO makes it possible to walk your avatar using the normal cursor keys - i.e., you are "driving" and you move your avatar where you want to go (ignoring SL lag effects!).

Without an AO, you could, for example, run an animation that walks your avatar round a fixed path - you don't use the cursor keys, the animation controls all the movement.

Dances tend mostly to be of the second sort - although my skating dances can run as an AO so you can skate round a rink doing the dance steps. Walks and runs are almost always AO type animations.

There are different ways an animation can be triggered - by a script or just by running the animation file. If you sit your avatar on a pose ball, a script in the pose ball will run the animation. If you pick a dance using a dance ball, the script in the dance ball asks for permission to animate your avatar, and if you say "yes", then the dance ball script runs the animation. If you wear an AO, the AO script acts on your cursor keys to run the animation.

I hope this explains a bit.
