I have a large spiral staircase going from my house at 300m to my beach. I would like to get a slide animation to make it an awesome slide for my kids, or even a rollar coaster. Does anyone have (or can make) something like this for me? Please IM me in world. I would very, very grateful!!

The easiest way to do this might be to have an object beside the slide that rezzes 'slide mats'.

Sitting on a slide mat would trigger the animation, and also trigger the mat to travel down the slide.

So you'd have an animation that is actually still relative to the 'slide mat' prim; and a prim which travels along the route defined by the spiral staircase (or other slide).

Route-following scripts are available in various places in SL, look for scripters who've made trains or trams or tour vehicles.

It would - I think - be technically possible to make an animation which travelled along a particular path, but it'd be tedious work and you'd have to have the exact same path all the time. By separating the route-following from the animation, you can re-use the same animation for multiple different types of route.

You can only move an avatar a maximum of 10 metres in an animation, so you need a scripted solution to this. Something akin to a "tour" system could work - suggest you try the scripting forum.

Try checking out those spiral water slides and see how those are done.
