I think SecondLife should let us change the animation settings once the animation is uploaded and not waste our time and $L to have to upload the animation for every little tweak. I mean, we’re part of the programming teem that help make this game fun. What would software programmers do if they had to pay money every time they compile a new version of their software for testing?
It’s not even like we need to upload the whole thing again (like a texture change for example) - were just talking about tweaking a few parameters: loop in and out, priority etc.
The current situation is un-satisfactory!
Does any one else care to share his/her view on the matter?

i *think* when you upload an animation it compiles it from a nice .bvh which is an easy to read text file i think, into something different so it's probably not as easy or simple to mess with the uploaded files. as far as a programmer paying to compile.......well we are basically paying for the privilege of using some of their database space i think. it's one of those things that doesn't grow on trees. all that out of the way yeah, it would be awesome if we could change those parameters and i hope they can figure out a way to make it happen. i would also like a way to permanently purge things out of the database if i've uploaded them and then replaced them with a new version (textures and sounds and such). no reason for them to stay around and clutter things up.

hehe How many times have you hit the upload button and immediately remembered something like "forgot to loop it, forgot to set the hands, forgot the priority, forgot to set facial emote"?
I would love an option to open up the preview window again for any animation.
And while we are at it, let me tell you a nightmare story.
An animator I know had their hard drive die, the lost ALL of their bvh files. The only versions of their animations in existance are the in game anims. How about an export from SL to BVH for full mod anims? It would also benefit people as a learning tool
The downside to anim export to bvh is that it could be abusable with people re-selling anims that are full mod under their own name instead of the name of the person who made it open source in the first place. BUt that's not any different from people grabbing open source BVH files off the internet and resellling them I guess... /shrug

I'd at least like to see a ground plane shown on the preview window. The preview window for animations is a complete joke as it is now. On average it costs me $L100 to upload one animation and get it tweaked out. This is pathetic.
