Typing override

Create the object that you want to use for your typing override, e.g., a keyboard or book. Insert both the override script and the animation into the contents of the object. Attach the object to your hand to use it. If you don't want a visible object, you can make it invisible using an invisiprim script. I created one using this script, but had to add a few lines to get it to work: http://www.lovelymachine.com/Dolmere/2006/09/keyboard_override_typing_anima.html

Don't use the invisiprim script used in shoes and such... that will make the avatar invisible.

My bad - the script contains the commands to make the object transparent when it isn't being used.

In shoes the invisprim script is supposed to make you invisible... at least parts of your feet... oh you...
