Can a Purchased Walk Ani Be Converted Into Default Walk?

.
i bought a very good Walk Animation created by Abramelin Wolfe.

i was under the impression that i can use this Walk Animation
to completely replace SL's default Walk.

so far, the only way i can use Wolfe's Walk is by clicking
the file from my inventory, along with the little popup dialog box
that says, "Play in World" & "Play Locally".

consequently, my avatar continues its walking motion,
even though in i have stopped walking, and i have to take the time
to turn it off.

my question is, is this the only way this Walk Animation can work,
by manually clicking it ON & OFF, or is there a way to make
Wolfe's Walk function the same way as SL's default walk?

if there is a way to convert Wolfe's Walk to be my Avatar's normal and regular walk,
please give me a step by step process to activate it that way

i have read the note "Anim Overide Help", but quite honestly,
it seems like useless information.

thanks ...

To replace animations in SL, you need what is called an "animation overrider" that detects when one of the default animations is playing, and replaces it with one of your choosing.

Lucky for you, the most used one is also free to use; the "WetIkon" overrider. Search for it in find.

There's also a nice HUD-attachment overrider by... brain blanking... well, you can look on the forums or someone will post it shortly, I'm sure. ;)

I know some shoes contain a walk-specific override, as well. While WetIkon is pretty easy once you get to know it, it can be a pain for a first time user. I remember throwing my first copy of it away out of frustration.

Agreed; skip the WetIkon and get a ZHAO. It's free, it's open source, it's easier to use and it replaces constantly typing "/ao on|off" with a single click.

Then rate Ziggy (the ZHAO creator) and Francis Chung (the Franimation creator) +1 building for their excellent work that they give away freely.

You can pick one up for free at Animation Warehouse. Just look at the Featured Products wall.

thank you all for your kind and informative responses

~and to Abramelin too, for contacting me~

i come from the Blaxxun World of wrl/vrml ...
which is a little bit cruder (and now outdated)
than the Poser World.

and, like with java and php for html ...
some things do work very well some of the time
and not so well at other times ...
all depending on tons of variables, like systems applications,
traffic, and even including the condition and behavior of
solar neutrinos of the sun.

sometimes, a second life only makes things more
complicated and time consumming ...

thanks again
