Unable to move hands in a straight line

Hey All,

Firstly thanks for all the great advise on this section of the forum it's pretty much answered every question, even before I thought of them!

My issue is as follows, I'm using Pose 6 and have already successfully made a range of poses so I've got all the basic static poses, sitting and the full action animations sorted.
Now I'm trying to make a yoga animation. Sounds simple enough, sitting on the floor soles of feet together with knees spread out. Hands on thighs. I then move the hands together and the head slightly down as if praying. That bit works fine. I then move both hands up together at the same time to still be together but raised over the head, with the head tilted up. This is where is goes a bit odd. in the actual animation, the hands come apart and move in an arc motion to the point at the top. Not pressed together and moving in a straight line.

Any ideas why this would happen? I've tried inverting the hands and then moving them but they just jump to the top position instead.

Kind regards

My guess is that Poser is interpolating for you -- guessing that you'd want an arc rather than a straight line, since things in nature rarely travel along straight lines. One possible workaround is to 'break spline' or select 'linear'. You invoke these options in the key interface in the lower-right part of the screen. If that doesn't work, perhaps just add more keyframes along the path you actually want.
