I started to use Poser 7 recently, I have used Qavimator for a while. I want to make a short animation using the poses from the library
Frame 1 is the T position,Frame 2 is a stand from the library, Frame 30 is another standing position.
The tween frames generated are all messed up and I can't delete them. It also does not seem possible to cut/copy/paste frames to other parts of the timeline. The reference manual is not much of a help. Am I missing something basic here?
Thanx,

Did you remember to break spline on Frame 2? THis could be the cause of your messed up tweening.
In Poser 7 you can delete individual keys and key frames in several ways. Here is one way. Bottom right is a button bar with a key symbol in the middle and back-forward arrows to the left and + and - signs to the right. Use these to move back and forwards through the key frames and click + to make a key frame and - to delete a key frame.
Use the animation graph to add/remove individual keys. This has a similar button bar but it just acts on the one key and not the whole key frame.
Use the animation palatte to cut/paste/move frames about. Highlight the frames by clicking on the dotted line at the top of the pallate - then it is a matter of holding down the shift key and dragging and dropping. Add extra frames using the counter at the bottom centre - just overtype into it to give yourself room to move things about. Be patient and give Poser a bit of time to do these bulk changes - you may well hear your hard disk working away for a few seconds!
Remember to save your animation regularly.

Thanks Deira, I am trying to get my head around the concept of splines. The plan was to use poses from the library as a starting point. I am using Kate 2 brush teeth poses. I did break the spline at frame 2 but it does not make any difference. Editing keyframe is no problem, but deleting the tweens seems not possible. Guess I just need to spend more time with Poser.

You can't delete frames in the middle of an animation - you can only delete them at the end - you have to sort-of shuffle them around by dragging and dropping - so overwriting or by re-timing the animation to alter the tweening.
It may help if you plan things out on paper first. Work out what you want to do, how many key frames you need and at which frame in the timeline they should be placed. The tweening is not significant in the sense of creation or deletion - try and think of it more as how you get from key frame to key frame. If the tween frames look wrong, it is because the key frames are wrong - there are not enough of them, or they are mis-timed.
Poser creates the tween frames by moving the figure from one key frame to the next taking the shortest possible path - so it could be that you really want more key frames to move your figure they way you want to. Or it could be that the poses you have used for your key frames have very large rotational differences in one or more joints.
A good check is to take a look through the animation graphs and see if you have any curves that are very large or with very big movements over a small number of frames. This indicates possible problem areas.

I always break spline on frame 2 and on the next keyframe. If I don't break on both, I sometimes get unpredictable behavior. Have you tried breaking spline on the first two keyframes?

hi i do not break spline i do not use it at all i just make all of my frames to be key frames indicating exactly how should the pose be in each key frame it is easy to be done, using copy, paste and move capabilities of poser in its animation pallete i'm completely satisfied with my animations and there is no unwanted movements good luck
