Newbie question.

So I create a simple pose. Easy enough. But then when I try to add key frames, I'll add a frame which is almost identical to it with maybe a slight change to one or two limbs. And instead of a smooth transition between the key frames, I get a crazy twisting and turning between them, as if Poser is choosing the worst possible way to transition between animations.

What causes this? And is there a way to fix it once an animation has become a crazy twisty thing?

Hmmm - it sounds like you are not using the correct kind of interpolation between your key frames. What you probably want is the "Linear" interpolation (which moves the joints in straight lines) rather than "Spline" interpolation. In Poser Artist (my tool - I don't have poser 6) You can set this on the animition palette. Spline interpolations are shaded green and linear interpolations are orange-brown. To set this, shift and drag to select the block that you want to change, and then press the linear interpolation button, which looks like a jagged zig-zag. I hope Poser 6 is the same... if not, someone will chime in an correct me, no doubt.

Good luck!

Got it. The linear interpolation worked. Didn't know where to look. :)

You can also choose 'break spline' for a similar result. I routinely break spline on frame 2 to avoid the anomalies you describe.
