Hi. Just got my hands on Poser 5 and thought I should get as much info as possible before starting to do any animations. I've read (among other things) Cristiano's explanations on the 1st keyframe position, and from what I know of 3D modeling and animatoin, it made sense to me (although it differs from what I'm used to).

Anyway, to my question.

So let's say that I've made an animation, tested it, had some problems with the floating/sinking thingie, zeroed it in using Cristiano's technique, and everything works fine. Now, if I were to give that animation to someone, would the animation work as it should or would the other person have the same problems that I did, considering the difference of AV hights?

Oh, btw, if the answer is in some post I haven't read yet, plz be so kind and direct me to it.

Thanks in advance :D

Far as I know one of the biggest problems with the whole animation thing is it's "automatic scaling", not :p

Yes you, or someone else, will inevitably have problems with animations that have been tweeked to a particular avitar's size. No real way I've heard of yet to get around this. But hey, leaves you wide open for those lovely custom jobs, ehh :D

Good luck my man!!!

And be sure to check out posts by Chip Midnight and Ursela Zigazag sp? has a great starter tutorial on her own site.

Thanks for the tip Jonny. I had seen her site, although it made more sense after I read the threads here on the forums, and had Poser in front of me. I guses (imo) that a combination of Cristiano's zeroing-in method and Ulrika's way of making three diferent versoins of each anomation would be the best thing then. That way, at least MOST people can use the animations. Guess I'll have to trail and fail/learn. Again, thanks for the tip :D

Hope it helped Cal, BTW the same thing applies to clothing "textures" as well. Most guys gotta be as big and bad as possible, I'm like 6-3 but only 6 in RL and not as buffed but hey, I look good SL and RL :D *swells own head, it pops like a zit!!!*
So if you use the templates to design clothes remeber that the patterns will stretch on a larger av. The will also squeeze on a smaller av, simple really, like for shirts try to keep your detail centered and like for my security shirt I "squeezed" the security so when my slightly larger than life self slipped into it, it stretched out to match pretty damn good. Now if Shorty Shrimpelstein puts it on it will propably wrap em up in the word security.

Happy creating!!!!!

Love, Peace, and Hairgrease!!!!
