Worked with Qavimator on XP for some time and loved it. Very easy to use and does all the simple things I want.
Only problem is that on my new pc with Vista, Qavimator is very unstable. It crashes like hell. Sometimes even a saved file can't be edited anymore. Vista doesn't display a crash report.
What I tried:
- Ran it on various compatibility modes, no effect. - De-installed and re-installed it, removing every folder and registry key, no succes. - Don't run it in full screen mode, no luck.
My system: Vista, Intel Core2 CPU 4300 @ 1.80 GHz, 2.0 Gb RAM, Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT.
I know that Qavimator is free and I shouldn't expect the world for that money. But is Qavimator still being developed or is there a solution to my crash problem?

are they actually making dualcores that run at 1.8? i mean man, isn't that slow? Not to knock windows and all the substial manhours they use to try to put out a product worth using, ya might want to use a dual boot option untill it's been around a while(wink, wink). cuz you may find problems with more crucial things that qvanimator also.

qavimator is heavily been worked on in the last couple of weeks, but I don't use vista, nor do I know anyone who does. I'll try to get a new windows setup out so you all can play with the new functions Known crashes: Inverse kinematics, BVH optimizer

Hey Zi. Great to hear that Qavimator is being worked on. I love this program. So easy to use and yet as versatile as it must be. Can't wait till the new version is out. Hope that'll fix my Vista prob too. Thanks in advance and good luck!!!

Any suggestion on how to provide vista crash feedback?
07-24-2007 10:05
I had to buy a new pc and am stuck with Vista. Like the original poster on this thread, I too am experience Vista causing qavimator to crash. It seems to work fun until it comes to importing a saved animation file.
Boom, it often crashes.
I'd be happy to help any way I can if there is some sort of debugging option I can set to get a report.
Best Regards, Blue
