Remarks, responses. There are posts from a Linden or two here.

The posts, at least, are directed at the Linden staff. So it has some of the attributes of the Linden Answers forum.

I made a joke one time about changing the Linden Answer forum to the Linden Question forum, which would be a no-reply forum where users could post questions for the Linden staff, but there would be no answers or replies from the staff.

Maybe this is my joke forum. ;)

We still read the forums (and not just Town Hall feedback), and we're listening. Keep talking to us.

Curious where this idea comes from. Cory put up a pretty detailed blog prior to the town hall, which addressed a number of core issues.. then answered a great deal of questions at the meeting.

If anything, the townhall format that was used is probably not the most ideal. I honestly got alot more from Phil's audio townhall than I did from the last two technical meetings with Cory.. Main reason I think being that there's no sense of rushing out answers into a paragraph or two of written text.. You hear his voice, you hear inflections, you hear his thoughts as he articulates them aloud.. you don't get that from a text format. The text format also has a fair amount of distractions.. people in the audience goofing off, shouting out, heckling, talking amongst themselves, playing obnoxious sounds, etc. Then there was the irony of broken IMs to the TH Questions group, and the sim crashing mid-event, talking a quarter of the audience with it.. :D

On the whole, and given the constraints of the format, I thought he answered questions posed to him in a truthful, candid way. I'm at a loss to understand the accusations of dodging questions and skirting around issues.

I dunno, Zaphod.. It's kinda nice to see a bunch of Lindens in-world, though I understand that not many get to see them. Cory was cuter than I expected, too.

It seemed his makeup was running a bit. :D

More to the point though, yeah, there's definately a "neat" factor involved with "being there" and interacting with each other and with the Lindens. But the expectation that people have in terms of getting down to brass tacks isn't very well served by the format.

The environment is distracting, the technical glitches are distracting, it's difficult at times to transpose thoughts to complete answers without occasionally coming off as being "short".. Not to mention the difficulties in keeping up as an audience member. By the time I finish reading and fully digesting one response, 2 more questions have been asked and answered. It all moves too quickly. And people end up walking away with less than they expected.
