Last week was the worst I've seen in my nearly a year in SL.

All week, transactions were more likely than not to be down. Group chat sessions wouldn't start, group notices refused to be sent.

The new server software doesn't seem to have done ANYTHING to improve stability. Just the opposite...for most of Sunday, all sorts of things were broken. Transactions couldn't be made, objects couldn't be transferred, Inventories were broken or corrupted, notes couldn't be read, teleports wouldn't work.

The last three Release Candidate viewers still have persistent bugs...memory leaks, crashing on teleports, crashing immediately to the desktop with no warning, freeze/crashes.

Things seemed to be getting better for a while there. This past week has been a steep downhill slide.

I'm beginning to agree with those who say the Second Life platform can NEVER be fixed, that its problems are hardwired in. LL, maybe it's time to look around for something stable. That Croquet thing, maybe. Re-code the world from scratch and port us all over. But you'd better do it before someone else beats you to it.
