Continued Predatory Behavior

How does LL handle a continuing issues with a resident who exhibits predatory behavior? More directly, how do I get this to stop?

What do you mean by 'predatory behavior'? That's kind of open to interpretation.

Nitro, You might want to give them some of the details of what is happening. Without naming names of course. This situation needs to stop, and it seems the Lindens are taking their sweet time in dealing with it.

No this has nothing to do with furries that I know of. It is a situation with an individual that is constantly harassing the female members of several groups. I will let Nitrojen fill in the details as she knows them in far more detail than I.

Simple harrassment:

Mute the offender. On your own land, freeze/eject/ban the offender.
Can't stand it? Create an alt.

If you are contacted by the stalker OUTSIDE of SL (i.e., he knows where you live):

Contact the local police. Contact the FBI. (I'm serious, the FBI investigates internet related crime). Give them all the details you can, and give them LL's corporate address so they can get the stalker's RL identity with a search warrant. Submit AR to LL and request they cooperate with the police.

You don't get "official linden responses" here on the forum. We're all residents, just like you.

Official Linden Responses come from support tickets and abuse reporting.

I'll second what has been said, though. Ban, mute, eject, ignore, and encourage others to do the same. If the offender is breaking rules in the TOS, file an abuse report on him. Just remember, what you call harrassment might be fun to others. Best that each victim AR the person individually.

if thats not enough, file an AR.

If they continue to harass you, file another AR.

If they continue to harass you, file another AR.

No, it isn't. I'm not a Linden...it's just that my first name and their last name share four letters.

Second point: Read my WHOLE response. Creating an alt was ONE alternative.

Third point: If you DO ask a Linden, I'll bet you'll get the same advice. LL does not get involved in resident to resident disputes. If you're being harrassed and take action against your persecutor, YOU are liable to get Abuse Reported and suspended. Your options are basically to ignore them, (and abuse report them if THEY violate the Terms of Service)...or to hide from them, by logging off, or by creating an alt.

Fourth point (and this is important). If the stalking has moved into Real Life, all bets are off. This is a serious situation and the victim needs to call in the authorities without delay.

You will get the same response from the lindens.
I contacted them in livechat about a stalker issue.
Also, if you're willing to take legal actions, there are several organizations online who deal in internet crimes. Just google "online stalkers" and you should be able to find them.
Be prepared to do some reading though.

If you are in an RP reigon, then you deal with it. If you are anywhere where there isn't some kind of predator RP going on, then the user is harrasing you and should be reported to LL.

Wouldn't a lawsuit be a lot of fuss over a problem better solved with a mute button and a report to LindenLabs?
