I am an intermediate computer user. I can build and tear down computers, I can troubleshoot operational problems fairly well, I even do a bit of coding now and again. I realize how complicated SL has got to be and realize it still has bugs. Some bugs you just don't discover until it is in full use operation. Working on a computer or a computer program is like working on a newer car. Theoretically if you replace x part with the appropriate new part all should work ok (if you can even figure out which part is the issue without aid of a computer diagnostic). Frequently as mechanics will tell you, it is not that easy. Things go wrong that you never imagined would and it takes 3 times the amount of time to get running correctly as you thought it would.
I just want to take the time to really say I appreciate not only the hard work when faced with the "black box guy" but further, you guys keep us updated as to what is going on as if we matter- and that is a huge deal at least to me. Microsoft puts out buggy stuff all the time and doesn't bother to say anything to us users when they have a problem. We're just money machines to them and once they have our money we can go take a flying leap. At least here we are treated like a community who are entitled to know what's up and are included in the trials and the triumphs. I don't know about others but being included in what is going on tends to make me feel like they are doing all the can as fast as they can and I can do my part by trying to wait patiently while it gets worked out. As SL grows (as I think it will) I hope that the powers that be can still make it a priority that the community that they created (and who pays the bills) remains important enough to be included in the good and the bad. This one thing will set them apart from just about everyone else.
Thanks Linden Labs...
