Please reinstate this feature. It was in the Focus Beta and I fell in love with it, and some recent mis-clicks reminded me how much I miss it. But for some unfathomable reason, when Shift+Enter to shout was found undesireable, Ctrl+Enter to start chat was taken out too.
Could we please put this *one* key command back into the client?

Weell, currently just Enter will open the chat bar (as well as send the chat). Is that what you mean?
IMO (probably because I use so many IM clients) ctrl-enter is a carriage return line feed. Though as I never close my chat bar, I could live with it opening/focusing the chat bar (as long as it takes focus from the menus!)

I agree, using CLTRL+Enter to bring up chat was something that took getting used, to but I love now, and miss.

IMO (probably because I use so many IM clients) ctrl-enter is a carriage return line feed. Though as I never close my chat bar, I could live with it opening/focusing the chat bar (as long as it takes focus from the menus!) Just enter doesn't work if your focus is on an IM, Inventory, or other windows. In the Focus Beta, you could hit Ctrl+Enter no matter where your focus was and it would open the chat entry field and focus on it. It was really handy.

Mm, I wouldn't mind having this feature back. I did find I used it when it was there.
I manage well enough without it, but I did use it a bit.
