Old bugs with a new twist

I'm very impressed with the way the latest RC manages to boost performance by accurately cutting down on things to render, making it near impossible to tell the difference before and after.

It must have taken many Lindens many sleepless nights to turn into the much faster .

Keep up the good work...

(Or in other words, thank you very much for breaking occlusion again, it does keep things interesting)

Now that's what I call getting back to nature ;P

The rocks in the background look like Sculpties, if so, they act like movies in that they refresh their shape at around 12fps. With the server code updates, the caches are probably trying to rebuild the textures, so you may see Sculpties for a breif time, then other texture uploads will grab the bandwidth until they load, etc.

Try turning off voice, media, and turn down graphics, then turn up bandwith, all in the preferences menu. Until it all settles down, then gradually increase each grpahic setting, finally turning down bandwidth to around 300kbps.

It's just the old occlusion bug, AWM .

The two pictures were taken seconds apart, the almost barren one that's missing parts of the land mesh, sim water and most/all of the prims is with Object-Object Occlusion turned on, the normal view is with OOO turned off.

Or you can see SL in all its nakedness , turn on Wireframe mode and run about a bit, its far more interesting LOL...
