A question mostly. When Dynamic Reflections make it into the final client, will there be an extra option for it per face instead of being on all shiny surfaces? Though it's nice to have those reflections, having everything shiny turned into chrome is not always desireable.

You know, I think your magpie avatar looks way better reflective than shiny. Though I agree with you, in general, I've got a lot of stuff that doesn't look nearly as good reflective. They probably ought to rename "shiny" to "glossy" and make "reflective" a separate flag. I'd also like to disable reflective for water because it's too freaky having things behind me reflected on the ocean in front of me. I mean.. it's kinda disturbing having reflections of giant otherwise-invisible people hovering over the void. |
