I tryed the new 1.20 but I find that the new colors on the sceen attracts all the attention away from what is most important: SL world. Its to light. To metalic. The dark colors that are used in the main viewer does not atract attention so much. Please do not follow this ugly path any furter!

Yes, I agree, I hate the new color scheme, I'm used to the chat window always having a black background, They need to give us the option to put in our own custom color schemes to the interface.

That is your personal opionion.

I can't wait until they release GUI skins/skinning. Has nobody read about this? All these threads bitching about the colors...

YOU DONT HAVE TO USE THE RELEASE CLIENT!

They will! I really don't see how people can go on these huge tirades about the RC/First Look viewers, when they haven't even read the roadmaps for them. If people would actually READ into what they were testing (thats right, it's a test client, you're testing it!) then they wouldn't be so bitter about the new UI. The new UI is great, sure, the colors arent, but thats not what it's about. The new UI isn't about the default colors. There will be MULTIPLE UI's that you can choose from. That is more than half the entire project, giving you choice of UI theme/colors. Yes, you'll even be able to choose the old one!

Ugh.

laughs how someone is trying to bully others

............as everyone knows its are own willingness to use it. MYself like many other have been using the beta clients and testing them for a very very long time (3 1/2 years myself). What is needed ( and your failing to see ) is the need for feed back ( you do understand what feed back is right ). peoples relys to issues, problems and other posting them. ( oh yes the lindens might not reply) but its anotehr way they can see the over all health of the beta clients.........

Maybe you just don't understand me right, Mister Musashi. You seem to be taking my replys to the new UI all wrong, but whatever you say, it must be right. At least, thats what you seem to think every time you reply to anything I've said.

Also, I think that LL understands feedback. They've got their faces rubbed in the dirt quite a few times when they do something the community isn't all in favor of. I'm quite sure they understand that this UI theme isn't working out that great. Maybe thats why they PLANNED to have skinning an option before they even released Dazzle as a test client?

Making Dazzle Look More Or Less Like Previous Versions
04-13-2008 09:51
Part of the Dazzle Viewer (1.20 series) is the ability to make it look the way you want.

Below are instructions to make it look more or less like older versions.

It would be nice if it were a tab on preferences, but at least its _possible_ to make custom changes.

(Note: I installed this and it looks good to me, YMMV)

http://www.rpgstats.com/SL/Dazzle-Retro.zip

Contains the custom colors.xml file and darker images

http://www.rpgstats.com/SL/Dazzle.zip

- Contains a blank colors.xml file and the Dazzle UI images
(for those who wish to revert without a re-install)

Extract the zip file of your choice, there will be two folders. "app_settings" and "skins"

Copy the content of those two folders into the right places in your SecondLifeReleaseCandidate program folder ( on windows this is C:\Program Files\SecondLifeReleaseCandidate\ by default )

If you do like it and want to make a donation of some kind...
Just send it to Thraxis Epsilon in SL.
