Position of Friends and Groups tabs in the new Communicate dailog

Some of us weren't happy with the position of the Friends and Groups tabs under Contacts in the new Communicate box. At present these tabs are on the Left hand side which results in quite a bit of wasted space.

There is a very simple fix to move these tabs to the top (or the bottom). However LL has closed the jira issue twice as a won't fix on the basis that this does not provide enough visual differentiation between these tabs and the other tabs in the Communicate window.

Needless to say I disagree, but I would like to gauge others opininons before appealing the decision.

What a hard question!

If the window was detachable then they should go on the top, but as is, being forced to have only 4.5 names vsible at a time, putting them up top (or bottom) would reduce that even further!

So if the window remains fixed then leave them where they are, otherwise put them at the top (or bottom).

Though in the end there is an easy XUI patch that moves them around anyway so compared to the other less easily fixable issues, Id say this was way down on the list

You could go see Benjamin at his office hour to talk about it with him.

Failing that, it is a rather trivial fix you can always apply yourself with every update.

I don't think the friends list should be tabbed at all. I think it should remain in a static window like it always has. IMO it doesn't have enough in common to be placed into the communications window, and i don't like it to be covered up when I'm chatting. Detachable isn't exactly good enough.
