I've seen a lot of complaining about the colour scheme, and I want to offer a different opinion. I want LL to know that I appreciate the colour change. I love it.

Well, OK, I merely like it. I definitely prefer it to the old dark interface. It's far easier on my eyes, makes reading text on the screen easier.

I still want control over the background color in any and every chat, message, and text window. That will enable me to make the chat windows white background, black text. It's a usability and readability issue. Reading light-coloured text, on any coloured background, causes eyestrain and makes reading more difficult.

Since I hope to spend lots of time in SL, I'm glad that the client is becoming easier to read, and healthier for me.

In fact it's the only reason I'm using the RC viewers. I'm not ready to be a bug tester, but I much prefer the RC colour scheme.

Good for you.

I don't like the new color scheme. Fortunately there are some
people with brains who don't work for LL who've created some
excellent alternatives, ie CHOICES.

I think the key word there is CHOICE. When will they introduce a quick and easy way to skin the UI colors? I’ve tried the color fixes that others have made but got tired of replacing the xmls with every RC update. I used to always use RC or FirstLook because I enjoyed testing it out hammering it and filing bug reports. But I’ve stopped simply because I hate the color scheme so much that I don’t even bother loading the newest RCs and I wont until I see here in the Forums ppl yelling “yay the old colors are back in RC!” I don’t really think I’m alone either. I think LL has lost many of the long time Firstlookers because of this color issue.
Anyway glad you like the colors Welleran and sorry for the rant.

Yeah I think there should be some kind of custom theme manager, with this version, a classic version, and maybe other versions included as well as a way to add your own custom ones to match your tastes/own computer's visual style. To me this new default one, not a big fan of it right now.

The current Dazzle UI has actually grown on me a bit, though I would still prefer a darker version of it =/
