The first three releases of WindLight First Look were great. Improved performance, wonderful graphics, more stable thant the standard viewer.

The last two releases have taken back a lot of that gain. There's a huge memory leak that causes me to have a Stack Heap Collision or Out of Memory crash every fifteen to thirty minutes or so. The teleport bug STILL hasn't been fixed...any teleport after I've been logged on for more than ten minutes or so is either horribly slow or will cause a crash. Property lines still can't be seen underwater. The pie menu has lost clothing text choices.

Too bad. The WindLight First Look is no longer my viewer of choice. I'm going back to the standard viewer, with the Nicholaz patches.

For me it's only the latest WindLight that's performing poorly, the previous one was very good.

FirstLook is Messin' Up

I'm having the same troubles on the Linux version of the firstlook viewer. I can get into the program(very very very slowly) and then setup my preferences. I can log in for about 20 minutes until I crash or lag too badly to do anything, and then have to quit. Whether I quit voluntarily and log out properly, or I crash completely and don't, the viewer doesn't save a single damned preference I have set. Ever. Not even once.

I don't know what you're doing over there, but it's sure as hell not writing good software. Guess I'm going to have to find a viewer someone hacked together themselves that works well enough to be functional.

Windlight on ATI - latest versions.

(ATI X1950XTX / ATI HD2900)

Current very noticeable bugs:

- Water reflection shaders not functioning (were working fine in prev. versions)
- Alpha textured/partle transparent texture rendered as 'non-alpha' on 'far' objects.. Probably by design as a performance improvement, generally a bad decision... (makes all invisible objects visible)
- Snapshot errors (off center focusing)

I'll look into JIRA (again...), but reporting bugs in JIRA, to have them fixed and get broken again is kind of ehm. wasted time for me.

Reverting back to standard viewer as 'weapon of choice' for the moment too.

I don't think even LL knows what the hell they're doing at this point.
