Doesn't get Login screen

Hi,

with the newest Version of the Windlightviewer i doesn't get the connect buttons. It only says Loading.... in the top left corner. And nothing else. On every pc i got. The older Version still works but is also slow till the connect buttons are visible. Compared to the standard viewer with the much better buttons. I hope they don't use that downgrade buttons in the standard viewer in the future. What can i do to login with windlight?

Hmm I know this is routine, but did you try clearing your cache, also re-installing?

First few things you should try.

To clear cache, goto preferences, even while the loading is there, you should be able to press CTRL P.

NETWORK--CLEAR CACHE
WEB -- CLEAR BOTH

close WL, and try again.
If this does not do the trick try re-installing the program.

I read in the german section that this happens if you select another installing language then english. I doesn't test it till now but maybe it will work to reinstall it in english. I will test it when i go offline from the non windlight viewer

This is a huge over-sight on LL's behalf, they've changed the whole log-in screen to using the browser-window, meaning the log-in bar won't appear at all unless the web-site is loading.

I'm strongly against them keeping this, as it makes logging in even slower and more difficult, especially if the web-site is slow or down.

Just Dl'd the new Vs... I too get this same "loading..." hang in the upper left corner on a number of computers as well. Can't even get to the login screen. Tried all the suggested fixes.. nothing

I had this problem too. Because I occasionally use voice, I always have to go into my firewall permissions and re-establish permissions for SLVoice and SLVoice client. This time, I may have inadvertently removed the permissions for the Windlight executable. Resetting it got me past the "Loading" screen and I successfully signed on after that. Just one more thing to check...

it works for me most of the time, but it´s horrible slow, and sometimes nothing happens (like now). i think it´s one of the worst ideas someone had lately at LL

also you have to "click" the login button now (once it loads from the webserver! omg so dumb) instead of just press enter.

please get back an offline login page

You should be able to use the enter key to submit, and if you can't, I'm sure they'd like to know your system configuration so maybe they can fix it. No really Now seems like a good time. http://jira.secondlife.com

In the mean time, you might be able to use tab and spacebar. Tab, space is something I'm accustomed to doing, but I tested the enter key as well.

Yes found problems logging in with First Look and RC viewers, Standard viewer seems to work better. First time I had login problems in probably 6 months.

On average this last few days ive had to close and reopen the client 4-5 times before i get the login page, it seems to timeout and not have the courtesy to tell you

I haven't had much luck with the new login screen either. Everytime it loads it crashes SL. So I have to use the -login parameter and hope it starts logging in before the login screen loads far enough to make it crash.

kevin, can you please explain the "-login" parameter, or tell where i can find an explanation?

edit: never mind found it, and it works

Hey, my english is bad, i found a "house solution" for this problem, when u Windlight stay in "Loading...Loading...Loading..." click in up button:

- Edit/Preferences/Graphic...and change the QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE...is a bar...low-miid-high-ultra... change it to another one quality and then surprise...u can see the logins buttons!!!

bah, this issue really needs to be fixxed.. very annoying

Its just not that loading of objects and textures have been grey these days we reach 40,000 online and that what happens nothign has changed but the grey is the same
