Floaters Occlude Improperly when you zoom the camera way in.
-Focus on something and zoom the camera way in. -Now grab a floater and slow drag it across the screen -notice how a box the same shape but a much large scale occludes object behind it.

Oh. Looks like a clipping problem. I have seen this occure with some menus and windows also. I think it is part of the renderer that is trying not to waste time drawing what you are not supposed to be able to see.

Precisely, Thom. I believe we have disabled this feature in recent builds, since it was not giving enough of a framerate boost relative to the cost of fixing bugs like this.

how do i remove the floater? i find it so frustrating it interupts my thoughts, and hard to see the inventory when scrolling i dont like it poping up, how does one get rid of this ? ty and was it really necessary for information on where the item is? why was the floater made? it is a highly distracted thing while building

I have a feeling that the floater ashlyn is talking about is not the one the previous posts in this old thread are talking about.
I think the prior posts mean "dialog boxes", "message boxes", etc. and ashlyn means some kind of popup info.
If I'm at all right, you may need to do Control Shift T, or View / Hover Tips and click on the Show Tips option to disable it.
I may just be misinterpreting things, though, in which case my question would be what is it that is obscuring parts of the inventory?
