Headset Compatability List

What is the problem with not having a FL voice headset compatibility list? I bought a headset at Wal-Mart, tried to use it with FL and of course, it didn't work. Can anyone tell me what will work (besides the one SL sells)???????????

Man... any headset should work. If no headsets are working maybe you have a problem with your sound card or a driver issue. Have you tried configuring the options within SL?

Yes, I have tried to configure the options, but the headsets never let me use the two text boxes with down arrows (they are always greyed out). Don't know what else to do, since my computer is fairly new (less than two years old).

Check that you have the following:

Your microphone plugged into the correct place. If you are using a front port, make sure your microphone is allocated to the 'front line in' in the soundboards software controller.

You haven't muted the microphone, either with an inline mute facility, or in the soundboard software controller.

If you are using XP, Start, Settings, Control Panel, click the 'Sound & Audio' icon, click the tabs and check that you have selected your actual soundboard (not default) as the device to use. Whilst there, click the Voice Tab, and again check that your soundboard is selected, and run the 'Test Hardware' function. You should see if the microphone is registering.

Check to make sure you have the latest drivers for your soundboard.

Uninstall ALL versions of SL. Defragment your hard drive, run a registry cleaner to remove old entries in the registry, install a fresh copy of SL. Reboot.
