New comp doesn't show water effects

Today I was able to log in from a new comp that allowed all the bells and whistles to do with WindLight. I ticked the reflections box and set graphics to good settings but still no shiny ripples or reflections on water.

This puzzles me - my usual comp doesn't allow selections of these settings as it's not powerful enough but this new one allows selection but still no effects.

I get the proper WL skies, though - very nice. Also performance is up - smooth movement even with draw distance at 512m - wow, wow and wow again!

But any ideas on what's up with the refelctions?
